If Donald Trump were currently the subject of multiple, concurrent, ongoing investigations by both the FBI and the New York Police Department \u2013 investigations into a likely organized long-running conspiracy to bribe a federal official to the tune of tens of millions of dollars; illegal use of a non-profit foundation to generate millions in income for his family; illegally accepting campaign contributions from foreign governments; obstruction of justice by lying to federal investigators and ADMITTEDLY deleting and \u201cscrubbing\u201d thousands of emails after they\u2019d been subpoenaed; selling out this country and its resources to foreign powers for personal enrichment; violation of security protocols by federal officers so repeated, so blatant, and so severe that the FBI is now \u201c99 percent sure\u201d official government secrets were \u201chacked\u201d off unsecure private e-mail devices in his possession and in the possession of his chief aide and in the possession of that chief aide\u2019s disgraced and sexually perverted spouse where they should never have been placed, possibly endangering U.S. operatives overseas as well as the lives of helpful defectors who trusted America to protect them, to the point where some are now actually bruiting about the word \u201ctreason\u201d . . . investigations which we\u2019re told are \u201clikely to generate indictments and arrests . . . SOON\u201d — yet he was considered likely to be elected president of the United States in three days, giving him the power to PARDON HIMSELF AND ALL HIS ACCOMPLICES — how do you suppose the American Mainstream press would be acting?<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll tell you how they\u2019d be acting. They\u2019d be shrieking it from the rooftops, demanding something be done about all this before November the eighth.<\/p>\n

They\u2019d be staked out in front of FBI headquarters in both Washington and New York, as well as New York\u2019s One Police Plaza, checking in with their shivering correspondents every hour on the hour to ask for updates, including interviews with pizza boys delivering emergency meals to the cops and special agents huddled inside, preparing their grand jury testimony and their affidavits requesting search and arrest warrants.<\/p>\n

And the candidate certainly wouldn\u2019t be left free to parade around the country, hugging rap artists and pop singers at celebrity endorsement concerts, unbothered by questions.<\/p>\n

Oh no. They\u2019d be shouting at the candidate at every opportunity \u201cAre you ready to be arrested? Do you have a little bag packed with your toothbrush and a change of underwear? Have you arranged for someone to feed your pets? How do you think your grandkids will react when they find out you\u2019re in jail for BRIBERY and TREASON? Aren\u2019t you ASHAMED?!\u201d<\/p>\n

But the candidate who\u2019s subject to all those very real investigations isn\u2019t Donald Trump, of course. The candidate who\u2019s subject to all those investigations -\u2013 and a few which may prove even less savory \u2013- is that Marxist Mass Media darling, Hillary Clinton. And therefore what the American Legacy Media -\u2013 The New York Times and Washington Post and CBS and ABC and NBC and CNN -\u2013 are saying to keep this astonishing constitutional crisis directly in front of America\u2019s eyes is . . . nothing.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one at ABC, CBS or NBC was breaking from the World Series. They couldn’t locate the Clinton story and offer even the briefest summary the next morning. MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski offered a serious report early on \u2018Morning Joe,\u2019 but she was alone. The other \u2018news\u2019 programs preferred the distraction of breathless baseball updates. . . .<\/p>\n

\u201cAt taxpayer-funded National Public Radio, \u2018Morning Edition\u2019 found anything and everything else more interesting and \u2018newsworthy,\u2019 including — we’re not kidding \u2013 \u2018teen night owls\u2019 who need later school start times and the perils of the illegal kidney trade in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe network blackout so far on this FBI probe is beyond the pale,\u201d Bozell continues. \u201cEveryone knows what the media reaction would be were there a report about likely indictments related to the Trump Foundation. There would be an immediate flash mob of reporters camped in front of Trump Tower, breaking away from regularly scheduled programming and offering play-by-play commentary. Anyone denying the double standard is lying.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is just the latest Clinton scandal scoop out of hundreds over the last 24 years that the networks have skipped or downplayed or just dismissed as toxic waste. This is why an overwhelming majority of Americans tell pollsters it’s obvious the media are undisguised Hillary boosters. Their credibility is shot with the public. <\/p>\n

\u201cWithin 18 hours, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell was bizarrely denying there was any story or any investigation worth noting. She said: \u2018She’s not under criminal investigation. In fact, it’s not an investigation. It’s just a review of the e-mails. She did not lie to the FBI, according to James Comey. There was no grounds to prosecute her. So there are no lies, there’s no criminality.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the kind of spin you expect from defense attorneys, not reporters,” Mr. Bozell notes. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s sinking in across America that our \u2018news\u2019 media are not First Amendment heroes or watchdogs of government. Many of them are coddling deeply corrupt politicians and denying any evidence that these people have been engaged in what appears to be a criminal conspiracy to enrich themselves using the federal government.<\/p>\n

The media slobbers at the possibility of obtaining the much-gossiped about KGB sex tape, though its delight seems to rely on the dubious notion that Trump getting biz-ay with multiple hot Eastern European women is totally going make people think less of him. Then again, most members of the media have never met an actual male.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe media would love to obtain a new tax return showing that Trump didn\u2019t pay taxes on money he didn\u2019t make — remember, stolen stuff if fine unless it hurts liberals, and then it\u2019s bad. The desperate media be happy just to trot out another woman who is paid to have sex on film to break down in tears claiming Trump tried to pay her to have sex, only not on film. If she was involved in the taped Russian orgy, there would be a kind of wonderful symmetry.<\/p>\n
